In the wake of the report on nuclear energy issued by the Southern States Energy Board, the Press-Register says it's time for Alabama to encourage new nuclear build:
As it moves forward with nuclear power, Alabama will not be alone. Up to 20 new reactors are planned by utilities across the South.

The Southern States Energy Board report concluded, the ability of electric utilities to develop and promote the use of resources "that do not create harmful emissions will be critical in the decades ahead as countries struggle to meet growing electricity demand while creating more environmentally sustainable energy solutions."

The board is right. And within that context, nuclear energy remains one of the more viable "environmentally sustainable energy solutions."
