Our friend Robert Merkel over at The View from Benambra was reviewing an EU report on the external costs of energy when he came across a disturbing statistic:
Here's a shocking one: while there's large levels of uncertainty in the figures if you prod deeply enough, an EU press release claims that, in total, air pollution across Europe led to about 3 million life-years lost in 2000, the equivalent of about 300,000 premature deaths. That is a stunning figure...
