French nuclear group Areva is in talks to link up with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan in an attempt to bolster its competitive position as governments edge closer to launching nuclear programmes to address pressing energy needs.More, from Reuters.
It is understood that discussions are at an advanced stage, and include taking joint orders, technology exchange and plans to develop a new type of pressurised water reactor, the preferred standard for 70 per cent of the world's new power stations.
