The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine will host a seminar on Friday, June 16 titled "Alternative Energy for California: Nuclear Plants." The event will take place at the UC Irvine University Club from 7 a.m. to noon.Last September, our CEO, Skip Bowman, delivered a speech at Town Hall LA that touched on nuclear energy's contribution to the state's environmental and economic well-being. The seminar will explore recent advances in nuclear technology that could provide more than the 20 percent of electric energy currently produced in California. Speakers include representatives from the American Nuclear Society, AREVA North America, California Energy Commission, U.S. Department of Energy, General Electric, Southern California Edison, and Westinghouse.
