There are four nuclear energy-related hearings on Capitol Hill that we'll be keeping an eye on this week:
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water is holding a hearing on the future of nuclear energy in the U.S. and interim storage of used nuclear fuel on September 13 at 10:00 a.m. in 2359 Rayburn. There will be a Webcast.
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality will hold a hearing on used nuclear fuel storage and disposal on September 13 at 2:00 p.m. in 2322 Rayburn. There will also be a Webcast for this hearing.
The Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Clean Air, Climate Change and Nuclear Safety will hold a hearing regarding NRC's responsibilities in complying with used nuclear fuel legislation and appropriations on September 14 at 9:30 a.m. in 406 Dirksen.
The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water will hold a hearing on the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership on September 14 at 10:00 a.m. in 138 Dirksen.
